Chessington and Hook Football Club face ongoing cancellations of training from sodden pitches affecting up to 200 local children following drastic damage to their drainage caused partially from Transport for London railway line embankment clearing and felled trees.
We are looking at solutions urgently to get kids and their dedicated coaches back to play.
I have written to our GLA assembly member to ask TfL about the environmental and flooding impact of their tree felling on the embankment plus also the signpost on Chalky Lane to the club.
I have written to the Environmental Agency as part of the River Thames Scheme consultation about the flooding and drainage
I have written to Chessington School to ask about support and offering enthusiasm for the partnership concept and joint funding
I will write to the Leader of the Council and see what help or funding might be available to support you.
I have also called Chessington Sports Club next to Chessington School to check availability of backup pitches
I have written to the Director of Rail about the tree felling and invited him for a tour.
