Dear Residents
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! So I’m writing to wish you all a very Happy Christmas Holiday and start to the New Year.
The Highlights this December for me were all the lovely Christmas celebrations and joining two amazing events for our Tamil and Korean community.
National Tamil Remembrance Day, ExCel London
I attended and spoke at a momentous and moving ceremony at ExCel London with Eliot Colburn MP and Bob Blackman MP, speaking in honour, quiet contemplation and memory of Tamils who sacrificed their lives for the values of freedom, self-determination and community. We wish you peace and happiness this Christmas.
British Korean Society Annual Dinner at the House of Lords
It was also wonderful to be invited to the British Korean Society annual dinner at the House of Lords hosted by the Ambassador of the Embassy of Korea and Permanent Mission to IMO and to meet the Minister and First Secretary and the Executive Team of the BKS following our new government partnership with South Korea, using our Brexit freedoms and strengthening long-term ties with our Korean partners and unlocking £21 billion of investment into the UK, with my host Marcel Lee who is the new Founder of the Conservative Friends of Korea and a kind friend to the Korean community in New Malden . If you would like to join please do get in touch.
Official Parliamentary Candidate
I am absolutely delighted to have been adopted by our Kingston and Surbiton Conservative Association formally as the Parliamentary Candidate! Thank you to all those that came to support me!
Wrap up Warm and Go for a Walk!
It’s been getting colder with a few frosty starts so I send all my best wishes to wrap up warm and get out and enjoy the beauty of our Kingston upon Thames borough riverside and parks. It is always a huge pleasure to get out in Richmond Park and walk my dogs Eddie and Cino (short for Cappuccino!)
Happy Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Helen Edward, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Kingston and Surbiton
